A few bad apples murder the innocent.
Why would the police stop murdering innocent people when there is no consequence to their behaviour?
Why would the police give a shit how many black, indigenous, poc, trans, or any other marginalized people they kill? Fuck, in 2016 an officer shot an unarmed white man in a hotel hallway and was acquitted.
No one is safe from the tyranny of the police. No one will be if they keep getting away with it!
The entire system is broken, from the police to the courts and it needs to be demolished. But for now, from within the broken system, if we, at a bare minimum held the police accountable for their actions maybe, just maybe they would think twice before reaching for their gun. If they knew that if they shot someone in the back, in their bed, in a park, in a hoodie, walking home or on their couch (just to name a few) they would have to face some real fucking consequences, maybe just maybe, less people would die at their hands.
But until that happens the police can and will continue to shoot people with impunity.
Demand more! Lay down in the streets! Spread information! Call people out on racist bullshit! Call and email your local officials. Do the work. Look inwards and ask yourself what work you still need to do.
100 % of the profit of this shirt has gone to a variety of Charities. First we donated all the proceeds to @mkefreedomfund The Milwaukee Freedom Fund was started by black and brown Milwaukee organizers to support residents' right to protest for justice.
Next we donated all the proceeds to support the Black Health Alliance @blackhealthcan
Now as justice fails us once again we will be donating 100% of the proceeds of this shirt to support Justice For Eishia Hudson, a gofund me started by her father William Hudson, this his her story...
This is the Family of Eishia Hudson,
My daughter was a 16-year-old Indigenous girl who was murdered by a Winnipeg police officer on April 8, 2020. We are currently seeking financial support towards our legal funds following the recent decision by the Independent Investigation Unit (IIU) in the murder of my daughter by a Winnipeg Police officer. The officer was let off, with no charges or penalties. The officer was not required to be interviewed for the investigation despite his statement after the killing
contradicting video evidence. The IIU is led by a former Crown prosecutor and mostly staffed by former police officers. The use of force report, which has not been released to the public, was also written by someone with “an extensive background in law enforcement.” With this decision, our family is going forward with a inquest and is also calling out for a public inquiry to be called by the province. We demand change within the IIU and the Winnipeg Police Service on how they handle oversight of investigations involving law enforcement towards BIPOC communities.
